Decrypt jargons and acronyms with a bot

Oxfam welcomed OxBot to their family in early 2018. OxBot is their jargon Bot and first Bot to be introduced on their Workplace instance. They developed this Bot in collaboration with Workplace partner Formative

OxBot was integrated to help their staff decipher acronyms and jargon which they use extensively at Oxfam. OxBot is very easy to use and can be called anywhere in Workplace, e.g., in Workplace Chat messages or Workplace posts/comments, to answer queries. The most powerful feature of OxBot is the ability for users to add acronyms or jargon directly to the Bot in Workplace! This was critical feature as Oxfam is always evolving and it is difficult to maintain an accurate and up to date single repository of acronyms and jargon.

Everyone was very excited to meet OxBot and to start using it! OxBot is making it easier for staff to get quick answers and keep their knowledge base up to date and in one place! OxBot become “best friends” with new employees in particular as it was able to help them become familiar with Oxfam Jargon quickly.

After the launch, they saw a net increase in the amount of Workplace Chat messages per day, meaning OxBot was getting a lot of acronym and jargon requests!
